ACH payments are fast becoming a nationally accepted payment method for many families to pay bills electronically. Some examples are:

*Direct insurance debits

*House payments

*Utility payments

*Pre-arranged ACH payment agreements with credit union or other financial institutions to automatically pull a payment from your account and pay a payment at another institution.

*Many gas stations are now clearing checks by ACH to ensure that funds are received immediately.

*Another instance that could occur: You are past due on an account or you forget to make a payment. The collection department could automatically debit your account, via ACH, with your permission and clear up the situation.

To sign up for ACH debits, you will need to contact the company that you want to authorize to debit the funds from your account. You will need to sign a form to authorize this electronic debit.
