You can use your VISA debit/check card at any location that displays the VISA symbol. The only exceptions are when the card is used to "hold funds", such as rental cars and motel rooms. You will need to inquire first with the vendor as to whether or not they will accept a debit/check card.
You can also use your VISA debit/check card at any PLUS or Pulse ATM machine.
Use your VISA debit/check card at retail establishments like Wal-Mart, grocery stores, the post office, Radio Shack, etc., to get cash back and avoid the need for ATM fees. All you do is swipe your card, and after putting in your PIN, the terminal will prompt you by asking if you would like cash back. Just say YES and choose the amount. At the end of the transaction the clerk will hand you the cash.
